The US Embassy in Belarus is pleased to announce the “How We Learn English” video contest to highlight the importance of learning the English language. The contest will be held from February 10 until March 15, 2010.
Everyone who would like to share their videos of the unique moments in learning English is welcome to participate.
Contest requirements: Groups of enthusiastic English learners and their teachers from secondary schools, colleges, universities, libraries, clubs, NGOs with English learning activities are welcome to participate. Participants should submit an official letter of support from their organization. The video files should be on CD/DVD in wmv or avi format and of any narrative and technical style: fiction or documentary, animated or live action. Video should be in English or have English subtitles and be no longer than three minutes. All participants should abide by the copyright laws and present their original work. They should refrain from submitting images that could offend other people.
The US Embassy reserves the right to use the materials of the contest in its electronic publications or public events.
The winners of the contest will be selected by U.S.
Embassy representatives and English language teaching professionals and awarded a set of English teaching materials and books for reading.
Evaluation criteria: quality, originality, improvisation, inspiration.

Please note that the CD/DVD images will not be returned to its owners. The participants should also submit their filled-in application along with the video and an official letter from an organization they represent supporting their participation in the subject contest.
